Happy Fathers Day

Just a few pics from yesterday.  We had a nice relaxing fathers day, we ran some errands, had some bbq, and took naps while watching the US Open.  I'm not sure it gets much better than that. After some late afternoon nourishment we went outside to play and go swimming.  Here are a few pictures.

My Boys... Jerry and his little man Hutson

Watering the driveway....

Watering himself...  He looks like such a little boy in this picture, I can't believe how fast time goes.

He knows he isn't supposed to leave the driveway without holding onto one of us... so here he is waiting for his daddy to come back and play some more.

Mr. Clean

So not only does the H man like to sweep he likes to vacuum too!!  We were cleaning his room and he wanted to help out.  When we changed his sheets we threw his mattress on the floor for him to play on, he loved it!

We also love to brush our teeth!

Texoma with the Hankins

Our good friends Tim and Lauren were so kind to invite us up to the lake this weekend, Lauren's family has a place on Lake Texoma.  For those of you who don't know, Texoma is right on the Texas/Oklahoma border, which is about an hour from us.  Hutson got to go on his first boat ride and he even got to drive the boat which he was very excited about.

Note to anyone who is pregnant:  Do not get on a boat for the day in your third trimester in the Texas heat/humidity.  It's a tad bit uncomfortable with the humidity and there is no where to pee, unless of course you get in the lake and I don't swim in lakes.

After the boat ride we played a bit of Wii while Hutson tried to take a nap, and so did Jerry.  I am just putting out there that I kicked the Big Tuna's butt in some wii tennis, and he may want to practice up before our next match.  :)

The rest of the afternoon evening we played some cards and lazed around.  It was a perfect afternoon topped off with a delicious dinner of grilled steaks, chicken, corn and some yummy apple pie.  Thank you to the Hankins!

Driving the boat with Lauren.  Look at the concentration on his face and the white knuckle grip he has on the steering wheel in the second picture.  He was taking his job very seriously.

The Big Tuna enjoying the ride in the back of the boat.

Food

First off, I want to start the post today by saying Happy Birthday to Jeff and Papa!!  I hope you both have a great day!

So I have noticed that most of the pictures I take of Hutson revolve around food.  The kid can eat and loves to eat.  For instance this morning for breakfast he ate, half an english muffin with apple butter, strawberries, cheerios and 2 scrambled eggs with some cheese.  I can't even eat that much for breakfast.  Oh and then he topped it off with 6 oz. of milk.  He is going to eat us out of house and home.  I don't know what we are going to do when we have two little boys that eat like that, I guess go to costco once a week.

He now can say 'Cookie', although it sounds more like 'kaka'.  Jerry is a big fan of 'milks favorite cookie' the Oreo, so Hutson occasionally gets one after lunch or dinner.  He loves them!  We can't even leave the package on the counter because he knows the sound and color of it and will throw a fit if he doesn't get one.  We have created a cookie monster.  Oreos create quite a mess, so I try to at least take his tshirt off before he eats one.

Lily and Lee came over this past weekend for a swim and some lunch.  The kids had fun eating off the same tray.  I love this picture they both gave their 'cheesy' camera smiles.

Jerry had a great idea to make our own popcicles, so this is us sharing a Razzleberry homemade popcicle.  By the way, it was delicious.

Random

Ok, so I realize I have been neglecting the blog for the past couple of weeks.  But, in my defense we have been very busy around here.  The Claytons have been visiting and then Great Papa and Grandma were visiting as well.  All of our guests are gone, and even Jerry left Hutson and I too, he went to Hotlanta for the week, we don't envy him.  The house is very quiet with everyone gone, Hutson and I aren't sure what we are going to do with ourselves this week.  I am thinking we need to plan some play dates or something.

It has gotten warm in the past week or so and we have been spending more time in the pool, I will try to get some pictures this week.  Hutson loves to play in the water, especially the waterfall.  The water doesn't feel too bad on this pregnant momma either.  Jerry and Hutson have become fond of popcicles this season, looks like I will have to start buying in bulk.

Great Papa and Grandma bought Hutson a fire truck for his first birthday, they brought it with them from Florida this week.  The truck has lights and siren noises, yea, and Hutson loves them.

We love to play in empty diaper boxes and other non-toys, here we are playing in a plastic tub.

Yesterday we went to Grimpa's and Grandi's, they have a cool swing set up in the trees just beyond their house.  Grimpa and Hutson had a great time.

On a different note... I have been reading this book called The Unhealthy Truth by Robyn O'Brien, it is really eye opening about what is in our foods.  If you have kids or know someone with food allergies you should read this book.
