Portland Zoo

Yes... I am still sorting through pictures of our trip.  I am pretty sure I have at least enough pictures for a few more posts, which is good since I don't have a camera to take new pictures.

We made a little stop at the Portland Zoo when we were in Oregon.  It was my third trip there, and I love it.  It really is a great zoo and it was nice to go in cooler weather.  I have been wanting to take the boys to the Dallas Zoo all summer, but its just too dang hot to make a trip.  Maybe this fall.

Polar Bears.

this is pretty much how Wheeler rolled the entire time... we went in the morning during his usual nap time, so he didn't have too much spunk.

Hutson was very enamored with the Elephants, although I was too.  There is something about them that is almost graceful, especially for an animal that size.

Have any of you seen the movie Madagascar?  It is a favorite around the Clayton casa.  Anyhoo, Hutson knows all the names of the characters... and so when we stumbled upon certain animals at the zoo, he referred to them as their character name, not what they are.

For example... he started screaming "Gloria, Gloria!" when we got to the Hippos.

and this is Marty... who says 'crack a lackin'

and of course our favorite... Melman

Then we stopped for a bit near the petting zoo.   Hut wasn't so excited to pet the goats or feed them, but I made him anyway, I needed a picture, and he is a trooper.

and you know this boy loves, loves, loves him some tractors.  I can't even begin to describe how excited he was when we came to this.  He did his little I'm-so-excited-I-don't-know-what-to-do-but-scream-dance.

and Wheelie is such a good boy, he just chilled.

Happy Sunday

We have a lovely little Sunday planned, lazing around, football and seeing some friends and their new addition to their family.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

the aquarium...

While staying at the beach we took a little day trip to the aquarium... Hutson was so excited to walk through the fish and shark tunnels.  I think watching his excitement was more than worth the trip.

Wheeler's one year check up...

yes, we are about 3 weeks late on his one year check up... maybe by the time we go for his 2 year check up we will be back on track.

Stats...
Weight- 25lbs and 13 oz (75-90%)
Height- 31.5 inches (90-95%)
Head- 19.2 inches (97%)

In comparison with Hut at 12 months, Wheeler weighs a full 2.5 lbs more, is EXACTLY the same height and has a larger noggin by about a 1/2 inch.  We got some shots today, and rounded out the visit with flu shots for both of the little men.

We are back!

finally... since I last posted Wheeler has turned ONE!  We celebrated his birthday, then we rushed off to Oregon to visit with Jerry's family for a couple of weeks, which was fantastic.  We went to the beach, the zoo, the aquarium, we visited with cousins we only get to see once a year, we enjoyed COOL summer weather, we went to the park, we had family time at Starbucks, we had a great time.  We got home late last night, and woke up this morning and visited with friends who are in town for a short while, and then my family came to hang out this afternoon.  The boys start a two day a week school tomorrow, whew, and Jerry has to go out of town for five days, part business, part fun, so we have been busy busy busy.  But don't worry, what I thought was only about 500 pictures, is about a 1000 pictures from our trip.  I am currently uploading them, it is taking forever, and will start to sort and edit.  I should have pictures up soon!

Now that the boys are going a couple days a week, and I will have some breathing time, I will be updating things more regularly around here.  Stay tuned.

For those of you wondering about pictures from Wheeler's birthday, I don't really have any.  Unacceptable, I know.  I am still without a camera, again unacceptable, but my mom was kind enough to loan her baby out with her nice lens, which is where all of our trip pictures came from.  Thank you mom, you are the best.  Back to the birthday, my mom took some amazing pictures from his birthday, and here is where you can find them.

Here are a few teasers from the trip....
