Manual

I haven't had the camera out since Wheeler's birthday.  That is 10 days!  So today I whipped it out determined to shoot in all manual.  I'm slowly trying to lose the crutch that is shooting in automatic.  I dropped the flash sometime ago to work on only natural light photos, and I pretty much always shoot with manual focus... but setting the other things seemed too daunting... but today I did it- and I don't think it turned out too shabby either.  Oh- and I am loving my new 50mm lens I got for my birthday- thanks Jerbear!

Guess where we went...?

The Aquarium!  I had been wanting to take the boys down there for awhile, now that Wheeler would actually enjoy it.  The last time we went- I posted about it here... and Wheeler was still itty bitty.  The Little Men really enjoyed showing Grammy and Papa all the animals, fish, and bugs.

Mr. Manatee just stared at us... he was our favorite.

turtles and sharks swimming together... we just happened to make it in time for the shark feeding which was pretty interesting...

-and this is what we are working on now... the par-tay is on Saturday and we are very excited for the littlest man to turn two.

Happy Thursday!

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Grammy and Papa Jerry today.  Jer lands a few hours before them and then will wait and bring them home with him.  The thought of daddy coming home, and with Grammy and Papa, is almost too exciting for these two little men.  I shipped them off to a friends house to distract them, well, and so I could clean the house.

We have had a quiet and relaxing week so far, it has been nice.  School starts for the little men in a couple of weeks, they go to a 2 or 3 day a week preschool.  I am looking forward to it, and sad at the same time.  Hut is all ready to go to his new school.  We tested it out last week and sent him to one of the camps there, he did great.  He is already talking about going back.  My little men are definitely social butterflies... there isn't a day that goes by that they don't ask to see friends, or cousins, or ask to go to the gym to play.  This is definitely not a trait that they get from me, this trait... is all daddy.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Hot.

We are hot.  I mean hot, hot.  We are at about 35+ days of over 100 degrees, and there is no end in sight.  Our pool is a cool 98 degrees which doesn't help either (as I was proofreading this, I started laughing, 98 degrees, the boy band...haha).  Donna and Jerry Sr. arrive on Thursday, and I hope they are ready to melt away.

I feel bad for this little man, you see that paci? It is about to go bye bye and Wheeler has no idea.  Hut was cut off cold turkey at 2 years old, and Wheeler's birthday is in 11 days.  I hope he gets over it as fast as Hutson did.

Oh and all that gorgeous blond hair... yeah it went bye-bye last week.  He went and got a big boy haircut.  We will debut pictures soon.

This serious little man has finally decided to be a big boy and we are potty trained!  yea!  We couldn't be more excited... and relieved.  The school that he is starting in a few weeks asks all their kids to be potty trained before enrollment, plus pull-ups and all the toys we have been bribing him with have started to get a little costly.

We are growing up over here and I am not so sure how I feel about it yet.

5 years.

Well 5 years and 6 days to be exact.  Our five year anniversary was last Saturday.  It has gone by quick.  Which is good, right?  My darling Jerbear and I ditched the little men with Aunt Tiffy and went out... by ourselves.  It was weird.  We never go anywhere just the two of us.  If we do manage to con a family member into watching them, it is always because we have plans with friends, never just the two of us.  It was nice, and weird... but mostly nice.  We went to our favorite hamburger spot, Square Burger, muy delicioso.  If you are in the McKinney area you should check them out- their sweet potato fries are aaahmazing!  Then somehow, some way, my husband talked me into taking him to a rodeo, a hour away.  Which turned into a hour and a half, because MR. navigator got us lost.  Once we finally got there, and I complained about the heat, 98 degrees at 9pm, for 15 minutes, I actually had a good time.  I am now a fan.  Can't wait to take the little men to one, they are gonna love it.

Oh and I was almost able to cross off No. 30 on my list, but I was wearing a dress and the county the rodeo was in, was dry, it wouldn't have been pretty.

My favorite picture from our wedding... it hangs on the wall in our family room.  It explains so much.  Happy Anniversary Jer, and here is to another easy five spot.

No. 13

A field trip to the Dallas Childrens Science Museum... check.

Sue and Maya, Lee's sister and niece were visiting from Israel last week.  While Lee was working, the little men and I decided to go on a field trip with Sue and Maya.  So off we went, to the Science Museum.  We had tons of fun.  I wish we could have spent more time wandering around and playing, but the boys have their limit, and when they are done- it is time to go... immediately.

We did have the chance to see some of these... and boy were the little men excited.

We did a little digging for bones...

My favorite area is the science area.  We blew bubbles and made ping pong balls float in the air...

I can officially cross of No. 13 on the list.  One down, twenty-nine to go.

Turning 2...

I have lots of posts coming up, with updates to my list, pictures and lots more.  I have been spending a lot of time lately getting ready for this though...

With true typical Teddi fashion I am sure that I am going a bit overboard on the party, I mean we are even going to veer away from the cupcakes this year and do something a bit different.  I figure I'll only have so many years before they start dictating how they want their birthday party to go down, so I will just live it up until then.
