Pool time

The Hankins joined us on Saturday afternoon for a little swim.

Hutson loves Big Tim...

He also loves Popsicles....

Just chillin'...

Wheelie loves to swim too, but when he saw crackers on the ledge of the pool his little legs kicked into overdrive to get to them...

We are very excited for Papa and Grammy to visit us from Oregon this week.  They arrive tomorrow night and stay for two whole weeks!  I'm guessing there will be lots of pool time, and maybe a few projects that will get completed and some ice cream consumed while they are here.  There are also birthdays to celebrate... My mom's birthday is July 1, and even though she will be in Hawaii, we will still celebrate for her without her.  July 8th is Jerry and my birthday, and its a big one for Jer, he will be officially out of his 30's!!  Then on the 16th is Jerry Sr.'s birthday and we will be celebrating the big 7-0 for him.  Stay tuned for pictures!

Happiest little boy in the world....

Our neighbor was kind enough to let a little tractor enthusiast ride along....

Everyday we pass this blue tractor at the neighbors house, and everyday Hut talks about it.  If it isn't there he says 'mama blue tractor working, blue tractor mow grass', and if it is there he says 'mama, blue tractor sleeping'.  Jer said he was so excited to be able to climb up there and play.  Then as they were getting down, our other neighbor came chugging along in his green tractor, which Hut knows and screams "JOHN DEERE TRACTOR".  He was nice enough to take Hut out to mow some grass with him...

thats right... we make our 2 year old mow the grass and he couldn't be happier.

What the ...

is this...?

This is the creepiest catapillar I have ever seen.  Usually catapillars are somewhat cute and harmless... this little bastard destroyed our tomato plant in under 24 hours... of course he had help from his little friend...

this is my poor tomato...

After a little research I found out that these little destroyers are called Tomato Hornworms and are very destructive to plants if not removed immediately.  They turn into the hummingbird moths... although ours aren't turning into anything other than fertilizer.  More info on them here.

check up

Wheeler went for his nine month check up this morning,  we are a little behind as he is already past the ten month mark.  He did great.  Gets an A+ from the Doc!  No shots this morning which was nice.  For those of you people that lives and breathes stats, oh wait- that's me.  Here they are...

Weight 23 lbs 2 oz, 75-90%
Height 30.5 inches, 95-97%
Head 18.5 inches, 95-97%

I feel like he should weigh more, he feels so much heavier, and I can totally get that his head is at the top of the class...holy crap this kid has a noggin.

I pulled out Hut's stats to see how he compared at the same age and Wheeler is beating him out in size!  (I can just hear my mom perched on my shoulder saying "don't compare them, they are different babies", but whatever, I like a healthy competition.)  Wheeler is a whole 2 lbs heavier than Hut was, and a smidgen taller.  I'm thinking Hutson better stop throwing toys at Wheeler or one of these days that kid is just going to teach him a lesson.

I really need to get figure out how to fix my camera as I am going through withdrawals at not being able to take pictures.  We have a Luau party tonight with some friends and some peeps are coming tomorrow to swim...  Shaping up to be a nice little weekend, if only I could get some pictures.

What is a post without pictures?  Boring.  So I pulled a few from my phone to share.

Hut wearing some moose ears...

Wheelie showing off his new shades...

Hutson enjoying some whip cream, or whippie as he calls it...

Hutson has started this new thing about his toys being on fire... so he frantically throws ALL of the toys into a big pile and yells "Hot Hot, Toys HOT, FIRE HOT mama".  We have no idea where he got this, to our knowledge he has never seen anyone build a bonfire, or anything that would give him this idea.  I blame my side of the family though, everyone is a bunch of pyros, including my mom, that woman likes to watch things burn.  At least my dad, grandpa and now brother put their love of fire to use as firefighters, maybe Hut has it in his blood.

Building a bonfire with toys...

Isn't he cute?

Enjoying the swings with mama...

Wheeler

Found some pictures just sitting in Lightroom waiting to be posted for you...

camera not working...

I can't figure out what happened to my camera, it won't work properly.  It is saving the pictures to the camera and not the memory card, even though it says its saving it to the memory card, and I can't get the pictures off the camera to the computer.  So no pictures of the little men today, sorry.

But I found these great posters online in my many endless hours of cruising the web, and I just love them, and the fact that they are for the MN state fair of all things.  (The fam is from MN for those of you that don't know)  So I give to you...

Posters on a stick...

Because what is a State Fair without food on a stick... excuse me.. FRIED food on a stick?

daddy date

Today Hutson is going to his very first movie in the movie theater.  Jer said one of the things he wanted to do for 'Fathers Day Weekend', yes he thinks he gets a whole weekend not just one day, was to take Hut to see....

Hutson and Jerry are going to meet their friends Michael and son, Austin, for the movie, and I am kinda jealous.  Ok, I'm really jealous.  I wanted to be with Hut for his first movie experience and capture everything on camera, the big bucket of popcorn in his lap, the excitement in his face when Woody comes on the huge screen, the tiredness in the car on the way home when he just talks about Woody and Buzz the whole way.  But, I also think its absolutely adorable that Jer wants to take him and spend the time with him.  Also- I am sure I will get to see the movie a bazillion times when it comes out on dvd.

So in typical Teddi fashion I am going shopping while the boys are away, Wheeler and I are meeting GrAndi for a little retail therapy.  FYI- for those of you GAP lovers out there, they are having a great summer sale, with an additional 20% off everything that is already on sale.  Time to stock up on the basics!

Happy Saturday!

Oh, and with tomorrow being Father's Day, Hutson, Wheeler and I have whipped up some snazzy little presents for daddy that I can't wait to share with everyone!

boys will be boys...

How is it that little boys become obsessed with heavy equipment?  Cars, trucks, tractors, excavators, bulldozers... you get the picture.

Hutson is obsessed with 'diggers', really excavators, but that is kind of a big word for a 2 year old.  He can tell the difference between a John Deere and a Ford tractor, he knows what a back hoe is and he knows that a bulldozer moves dirt.  I never thought I would be thankful for all the road construction that goes on here 24/7, but he is so enthralled with it all that he just stares out the window when we are in the car.

We had the ditch in front of our house leveled out the other day so that we can plant grass.  The guys brought a small bulldozer to do the job, you would have thought they were Santa Claus, Hutson was so excited.  He went and got his CAT bulldozer and sat in his chair in front of the window just watching them work.

Jerry's blueberry plants are starting to produce some very delicious little treats...

and of course a little time in the pool... we opted for the kiddie pool today.

P is for Pool

As it continues to get warmer and warmer and warmer here... we continue to spend more and more and more time in the pool to keep ourselves cool.  Hutson is a total water boy, you've seen the pictures of him and the hose.  We are teaching him to swim this summer, and so far so good.  We have been through several swim jackets, floats, vests... but I think we finally found one that works well.  He loves it and was comfortable floating around without holding on to daddy.

his new floatie can be found here... its fantastic.

I know I haven't posted much lately but I am having serious camera envy and I am dying to buy some new software for photo editing, so I don't even want to use the equipment I have.  I know I should just continue with what I have and make the best of it, but I know what I could do if I had the equipment I want.... Just a few more months of saving...

95....

Jerry's Grandpa Fred is 95 years old today!  They had a party for him and 150 of his closest friends today in Portland.  We really wish we could have been there to celebrate with him.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Fred!
We will see you in August!

30 & 78....

= 108!

That is how many years that my Grandpa and my brother Jeff are combined today.  They share a birthday, and today is the day!!  There are a lot of shared birthdays in my combined families, and I personally think sharing a birthday is kinda cool... or maybe I just have to say that because Jerbear and I share ours...  Anyway...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA & JEFF!!!

78 years young today...

I never knew Jeff had a chubby phase, he has always been tall and lean, but wait... there it is, bottom right...  I love it!  But I think the bottom left is my favorite, because those toes you see him kissing are MINE!!!

Night Off

This last Saturday we had the opportunity to have a night off from the little men, I of course, jumped at the chance.  This was my first child free overnight since before Wheeler was born last August, it was long overdue.  We dropped the little men off with their GrAndi and Papa at the ranch and made our way out to the lake to have a bit of down time with some friends.  It was so nice to not have a child hanging on me, or making sure that I had the right size diaper on the right kid...  I promised myself it will not be another 10 months before I enjoy some grown-up time.

The Hankins...
If you don't know who these people are, well then, I can't help you...

maybe having a little too much fun...

I know, I know... no pictures of the boys this post.  Don't worry I will get on it soon.

Adventures with Papa...

Okay, so I haven't been too great at posting on our Adventures with Papa on Wednesdays.  So here are a few from yesterday.

We got to pick wild blackberries, and they were delicious!

Hut loves to go look at the ducks and pet the horses next door.

He also got to feed the catfish, and of course go for rides on Papa's golf cart, fun is always had by all.

Someone mistook face cream for hair gel... but I'm pretty sure he didn't mind the difference.
