Addiction

I just wanted to let everyone now that this is probably going to be a very long post... well at least for me anyway.  I have posted pictures with this post, if thats what you want to see then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the post and enjoy.

Hi, my name is Teddi and I have an internet addiction.

Jerry has been telling this to me for months, but I finally agree.  I spend a lot of my precious free time (while the boys are sleeping of course) on the computer.  Doing what?.. well I edit photos, I check email (although I don't get that much), I browse facebook, I shop for things that I want (but I don't buy, thank goodness), I catch up on my news, and I read a lot of blogs.  I don't know why blogs interest me... they just do.  A lot of craft/paper making blogs, letterpress blogs, design blogs, cooking blogs, friends and family blogs, I even read blogs of people I don't know.  I read photography blogs, party planning blogs, fashion blogs, travel blogs....  I am addicted and I need to stop.

There are so many things that I could be doing with time that I spend on the computer, I could be working out more, I could be getting the infinite list of stuff that needs to be done around the house done.  Right now I could be unloading the dishwasher, washing bottles (just used the last clean one), planting all the flowers we just bought, folding and putting away the six loads of laundry I have run through in the past day or so.  I could be cleaning off and organizing my desk, or making the Easter sugar cookies Hut needs for Thursdays school party, I could be putting together the easter crafts that I have sitting in a pile that I want to do.  I need to be working on a baby shower and birthday party goodies.  I could have showered or cleaned my closet, or even cleaned out my car, but yet I sit here cruising the internet.  No matter what time of day it is as soon as the boys both go down for naps or bedtime, my first instinct is to come into the office and get on the internet and see what has changed, who has updated their blog, pictures, facebook status, what new news is there, it goes on and on and on.  As a lot of you know the internet has no end, believe me I have spent a lot of time looking for it.

So... I decided to experiment a little and see how much I can get done if I turn the computer off for one week.  It is going to be difficult but I hope I have the will power to see it through.  No facebook, no chatting, no editing photos, no reading blogs, no nothing.  I will start this self-imposed computer banishment tonight at midnight and will be back online next Thursday morning.  I do have an iphone that I read my email on and I will still be checking for email on my phone, but I will not be checking facebook or cruising the web on my phone at all, I promise.

I have already been thinking up ways to get around this, like...
...can I use Jerry's computer?  NO
...what if I call my mom and ask her to look something up for me, is that allowed?  I doubt she would after reading this post in an attempt to support me so thats out the window.

So wish me luck!

Ok... here are the pictures I promised...

playing in the fort that GeeGee made Hutson...
I love that little eye peeking out...

Wheeler was so happy when Hutson came to get him up from his nap, he loves his brother...

Poor Roosevelt... not only does he have Hutson to worry about, now Wheeler wants to play too...

This morning Hutson decided that he wanted to diaper his Ernie toy, I had just finished changing Wheeler and Hut decided that Ernie needed a diaper too.  I love that he used the wipes first then the diaper.  He wasn't too excited when Wheelie crawled over and pulled Ernie's head off, but he eventually got it all figured out...

On a different note... Hutson has a wicked ear and sinus infection that turned into an eye infection as well.  Poor bugger, so he has been a little under the weather the past few days.  But we are on antibiotics and it seems to be helping already so we should be right as rain for Easter Sunday.

Circus animals

A little mini circus came to town right over by Jeff and Lee's house.  So this morning Hutson, Wheeler and I met Lee and Lily over there to see the animals.  The circus folk were in the middle of packing up and they just let us roam around to peek at the animals.  Lily and Hutson had a great time, I think they were the most excited when they got to see the Elephants.

We weren't quite sure whether this was a baby Donkey or baby Zonkey... he has striped ears and legs like the Zebra that was in the next pen over...

Lots of baby goats... they were very friendly, almost a little too friendly...

They also had quite a bit of fun sitting on the metal stairs banging their feet...

It was a nice way to start our Sunday morning, even if it was a little windy and cold outside.  Boys are napping now and then this afternoon we are planting our veggie garden.

Play date with Uncle Alex and Miss Evee

This morning we ventured over to the next city to play at this huge amazing park.  Its one of the biggest playgrounds I have seen.  Hutson loved it.

Alex and Evee met us there and played with us for a bit.  Hutson was very excited to see his 'Uncle Alex' and baby Evee.

Exploring the slides...

Alex and Evee arrive...

While Alex was chasing Hutson around I was hanging out with the 'littles'.  I love this picture they both just kicked their left leg up and were chillin'...

On to the swings...

Alex goofing around...

No big plans for the weekend... We will probably hit up the park again, Jerry wants to plant his garden, and we have a few birthday parties to stop at.

Have a great weekend!

Sunny

For those of you that don't live in North Texas, just trust us when we say our weather is crazy.

We had blizzard like conditions on Saturday evening, followed up with about six inches of snow on the ground Sunday morning.  But today- 75 degrees and sunny!

Jerry is out of town this week.  He has been home for about the last three weeks, and we have been loving that, but we understand he has to go.  Hutson doesn't quite get it yet, he asks for his daddy every night at bed time.  Sometimes I lie and tell him that if he lies down and snuggles with his blankie that I will send daddy up in five minutes, usually by the time I go back to check on him he is out.

We definitely have our routines when the Cat is away...  every afternoon at about 3:30 pm we go outside and play at the neighbors house.  Then we come home and I deposit the boys in the bath tub, today was the first dual bath, more on that in a minute.  We do dinner and cartoons and then bed.  We have it down, the boys know it and it works beautifully, for now.

Tub time...  I held Wheelie in the tub with Hutson this evening- they LOVED it!  They both giggled and splashed together.  Wheeler can't sit in there on his own yet, too slippery, so I just held him in there- I might as well have just gotten in with them.  No pictures of the event- too hard to hold the camera and Wheeler at the same time.  So next time I will have Jerbear help so we can get some pictures- I know that is what people come to the blog to see anyway.

Ok well on to the pictures of this afternoon...
my little man, playing king of the castle...

We like to squish Wheeler in with his bestie, Iris.

I just want to grab his little cheeks and squeeze... he is my little pumpkin!

My precious little baby toes....He likes to recline in the stroller and prop his feet up

a few pictures of our lovely neighbors...
We spend most of our afternoon with these little ladies...

Have a great rest of your week, we will enjoy ours!

just for the heck of it...

Happy Friday!

Thank you Claytons...

... for the great visit.  Hutson started asking for Grammy and Papa as soon as he got up from his nap on Wednesday.

Usually while Donna and Jerry are visiting we have a list of things for Jerry Sr. to do.  We don't invite them to come and work on their vacation, however, Jerry Sr. can't sit still so why not have some small jobs for him to accomplish.  In the past these 'small' jobs have included installing and painting all the trim in the house, helping lay tile, finish floors, tear up floors, refinish floors, put in sod, put in windows, hang drapes, etc., just some little stuff to make sure his hands aren't idle.  This visit wasn't much different, although I have to say I think he probably enjoyed the jobs more than he has in the past, I'm not sure he lost any weight this time.  There have been a few visits where he worked off a few lbs sweating out in the Texas summer sun.

Here are just a few things he managed to get done while here this time....

Put together the chairs I got for Christmas...

Built Jerry's wine racks for the wine room...  we filled it up pretty quickly, I guess we need to start drinking!

He put up the shelves in both of the boys bedrooms that have been sitting against the wall for at least 4 months...

He hung the letters in Wheeler's room and then had the fantastic idea to put trim around it.... I love it!

He built this little bench with cubby's for my laundry room... it still needs to be painted.  Don't worry Senior I will have this painted before the next visit in August!

So thank you for everything!  While Jerry Sr. is working away, Donna spends time loving on my boys which is awesome, they love their Grammy!

It was a great visit and we are already looking forward to the next one...

Back on the sick train...

We are sick.  again.  Both the boys have colds, poor little guys.  Here is how you know Hutson isn't feeling well...  I got him all dressed to go outside and play in the garage and driveway with his daddy and papa, and all he wanted to do was sit in my lap with his blankie and watch.  So not my boy.  Wheelie is all snot and cough, we have been spending a lot of time snuggled in the doublewide (my nickname for our extra large leather chair), and watching sesame street.  (I realized this when going through the blog that two out of the last three posts have had titles from sesame street songs, C is for Cookie, and Rubber Ducky...  we need to expand our cartoon selection).

We did manage to have a little fun...

Waylon trying to give us kisses to make us feel better...

Waylon loves the camera...

Mr. Cool...

*** PS-  I was informed that the comment section wasn't working properly.  I just wanted to say that it is all fixed, so comment away should you feel inclined, if your not inclined continue to enjoy the pictures.

Rubber Ducky you're the one...

... you make bath time so much fun.  Rubber ducky I'm awfully fond of you.

Last night Jeff, Lee, Lily and baby-to-be, stopped by for dinner.  Before I get to the fun bath time photos, I have to give myself a shout out here.  Last night for dinner I made enchiladas, and from what I hear they were delicious.  I don't cook much, well except a few choice dishes like spaghetti, tacos, pork chops, pretty much the easy stuff.  But last night I ventured out and even made a recipe out of a magazine.  They were lower calorie enchiladas because I made my own ranchero sauce (you heard right, I made it) instead of using a pre-made enchilada sauce.  These were easy and yummy and will definitely have to go into the rotation.

After dinner we decided to drop Lily and Hut in the bath and see what would happen.  This is what happened....

I am pretty sure it was the most fun they have had in a long time.

This is Lily tell us what a lion says.... "rooooaaar"

"Look ma, I'm washing my face!"

This is the face a pure joy... (and pure adorableness)

The Claytons

We have just been trying to relax and recover today from the big festivities yesterday.  Hutson had his 2 year check up this morning, he did great with only one shot.  He weighs 32 lbs and 10 oz, and measures 37 1/2 inches.  The Dr. said he is the size of an average three year old.... he is two.  The kid does eat on a regular basis.. 2 breakfasts, lunch, snack, dinner and snack.  Here are a few pictures from the last few days with Donna and Jerry Sr.
